Anti-SSA and Anti-dsDNA Autoantibodies in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients and their Association with Disease Severity: A Case-Control Study in Kerbala Province

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a lifelong autoimmune inflammatory disease of unknown origin. An early diagnosis RA could improve the outcome. Several autoantibodies have been found in patients. Objective: To evaluate incidence against Sjögren's syndrome antigen A (SSA) and double-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid (dsDNA) patients to detect association between their presence severity markers. Methods: Blood samples were drawn from participants be used detection ESR for simultaneous rheumatoid factor (RF), anti-cyclic citrullinated protein antibodies (ACCP), anti-SSA, anti-dsDNA by ELISA technique. Result: The level differs significantly healthy people. Anti-SSA was present about 95.12% 2.43% controls, respectively. Additionally, 82.92% 14.63% significant positive correlation autoantibody levels detected. non-significant detected activity score 28 (DAS28) existence autoantibodies. Conclusion: ROC analysis demonstrated that RF, ACCP, had high discriminatory power. mean these vary dramatically sick individuals. RF varies with illness duration. According DAS28, no differed considerably.
